Licensing Services

FSSAI

A) FSSAI Basic Registration

Individuals engaged in the food sector with an annual turnover not exceeding ₹12 lakhs are mandated to obtain a basic FSSAI license. This requirement applies to all entities within the food industry, including manufacturers, retailers, storage and transport operators, and distributors. Specifically, the following categories are encompassed:
All food manufacturers, which include petty hawkers, vendors, and street stalls proprietors.
Small-scale, cottage, or other related industries in the food sector with an annual turnover of up to ₹12 lakhs, meeting the following criteria:
-The daily production capacity of food (excluding milk and milk products, as well as meat and meat products) does not surpass 100 kg or liters.
-The daily procurement, handling, and collection of milk are limited to 500 liters.
-The slaughtering capacity does not exceed 2 large animals, 10 small animals, or 50 poultry birds per day.
Prescribed Govt. Fee:
for basic FSSAI registration is Rs. 100/- per year. You can apply for maximum five years at a time.
Professional Fee:
Rs. 500/- Only
Documents required:-
PAN Card, Aaddhar Card, Passport size photo, Photos of business premises, Proof of business premises like rent receipt & electricity bill. All the documents should be self attested.

B) FSSAI State License

Businesses with an annual turnover exceeding ₹ 12 lakhs but not surpassing ₹ 20 crores are mandated to obtain a State License.

Prescribed Govt. Fee:
for FSSAI State license vary from state to state. In Punjab, its Rs. 2000/- per year and you can apply for maximum 5 years at a time.
Professional Fee:
Rs. 2500/-

C) FSSAI Central License

Businesses with an annual turnover exceeding ₹20 crores are obligated to secure a Central FSSAI License. The prescribed fee for this license, applicable to both new applications and renewals, is set at ₹7,500 annually. Notably, this license is valid for a tenure of up to five years.
Prescribed Govt. Fee:
for FSSAI Central license is Rs. 7500/- per year.
Professional Fee:
Rs. 5000/-

MSME

A) FSSAI Basic Registration

An enterprise shall be classified as a micro, small or medium enterprise on the basis of the following criteria, namely: —

a micro enterprise, where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed Rs. 1 crore rupees and turnover does not exceed Rs. 5 crore rupees;
a small enterprise, where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed Rs. 10 crore rupees and turnover does not exceed Rs. 50 crore rupees; and
a medium enterprise, where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed Rs. 50 crore rupees and turnover does not exceed Rs. 250 crore rupees.
Prescribed Govt. Fee:
There is no govt fee to apply for MSME registration
Professional Fee:
Rs. 750/- Only

Benefits of this registration:

It will be a permanent registration and basic identification number for an enterprise state to state. In Punjab, its Rs. 2000/- per year and you can apply for maximum 5 years at a time.
MSME Registration is paperless and based on self- declaration.
There will be no need for renewal of Registration.

MSME Section 43B(h): New MSME 45 Days Payment Rule

The newly added clause (h) states that any sum payable by the assessee to a Micro & Small Enterprise beyond the time limit specified in Section 15 of the MSMED Act shall be allowed as a deduction only in the previous year in which the sum has been actually paid (irrespective of the accounting method employed).
